This little honey bee was one of many gathered around the pink blossom of Cercis siliquastrum, or the Judas tree, in Kew Gardens. After the long, wet run-up to early summer, this tree was one of the few left still in blossom in early May. So there were lots of bees and it was great for practising macro technique. (The bees were very cooperative in spite of the breeze and stayed helpfully still for a good few seconds at a time!)
