It was early in New Zealand and our bones were frozen from the cool night before. We had just spent the last 30 minutes hiking to the end of a cliff edge, now what? Suddenly the skies opened up and the warm sun broke through the clouds bouncing light against the ravines rigged cliffs and brightening the soft red, green and wheaty colours of the pine trees, it was as if the day was awakening and saying ‘good morning’. It was a rewarding effort for what was originally a cold, dreary and sleepy start to the day.
