During world war II Sweden opened the borders for 500 jewish children, but only if there was someone that would pay all the costs and take care of them. In Mellerud in Dalsland six families opened their home. This photo from the memorial place in Mellerud was send and given to me when I made the film Aarons nya Land about the jewish history of Sweden.
