Old Germany in a New World

I have always liked bridges - they are symbols of order, strength, endurance, symmetry. Bridges are stoic in their function, benevolent with their fortitude, calming with their stability. We trust bridges because they support us without question - and this picture is of the underside of the bridge I ride above when taking the train home.
