We had just finished running a full day retreat for year 9 students when this shot was taken. It was an uncharacteristically warm and sunny winters day on the coast. The retreat was run in the local surf life saving club with the backdrop of the beach providing a constant reminder of God’s beauty found in creation. Afterwards, we walked down to the beach and couldn’t help but take a few shots. This particular shot beautifully portrays the idea that, although scripture is the centrepiece of Christian life, we must turn our eye to the presence of God in creation if we want the full picture.
