This photo was taken during a morning boat trip along the Ganges river in the incredible Varanasi. It was one of the most memorable sunrises of my life till now, probably because I had no expectations at all. The early morning light on the ghats is simply beautiful and breath taking but what amazed me the most was to witness the life along the ghats. In the early morning pilgrims and locals descend on the ghats to pray, to bath, to wash their clothes, to practice yoga, to play… Is the spectacle of life itself in a city where death is not a taboo.
