Meet your new Homepage
Tailoring the Unsplash experience

We're thrilled to share some exciting news with you: Unsplash is hitting refresh with a brand-new homepage!
We wanted to provide some context into what's changed and what our new modular design will mean for you.
Why the switch-up?
Our aim is to present you with more useful content when you visit unsplash.com, without changing the fundamental core browsing experience: a beautiful feed of curated photos.
Before, when we added announcements to the site, the combination of the large Photo of the Day and the announcement banner pushed the Editorial feed content completely out of the viewport. By streamlining the header, we can share major updates while still placing greater emphasis on the editorial content.

Before and After
What about photo of the day?
We didn't entirely bid farewell to "photo of the day." Instead, it still exists as a module that rotates among other engaging content, such as curated collections, trending keywords, and more. This change ensures that "photo of the day" doesn’t take over the homepage but becomes a more integrated part of your experience.

What are modules?

Modules are fixed-size components that slot together on the homepage to showcase a variety of content:
- Curated collections: Discover hand-picked, thematic collections that spark your creativity.
- Trending searches: Stay updated with what's new in the Unsplash community.
- Awards: Celebrate the incredible work of the Unsplash contributors.
- Photo of the Day: Your daily dose of exceptional visual storytelling.
- Unsplash+: Explore Unsplash+ content for subscribers.
What‘s coming? Tailoring Unsplash for You
Our primary goal with the new homepage was to create a more personalized experience for each and every member of Unsplash. We understand that Unsplash serves a diverse community, ranging from first-time visitors to seasoned contributors, Unsplash+ subscribers, and returning users, and a one-size-fits-all approach to the homepage just won’t cut it.
We want to cater to the unique needs and interests of all our users, and the beauty of modules is that you will see the content that matters most to you. Here are the changes you can expect to see on your future homepage:
First-time users: For those who are new to Unsplash, our homepage will provide valuable information about licenses, the distinctions between Unsplash and Unsplash+, and more to ensure a smooth and informative introduction.
Returning users: If you’re a frequent (logged-in) visitor, you’ll be able to see trending collections, popular keywords, and other relevant content to make finding the image you want easier and faster.
Contributors: Shortly, the new homepage will show your stats, new topics, and interesting blog articles. And if you are an Unsplash+ contributor, these modules will serve as quick access to see new briefs.
Subscribers: Unsplash+ subscribers can now enjoy curated Unsplash+ content, discover new additions, and find everything they need in one place.
So, there you have it – Unsplash's new homepage. Happy browsing!
