Wavell Block in Hong Kong Park of Hong Kong was the staff quarters for married officers of the British Army in Victoria Barracks during the colonial rule period. As Hong Kong was to be returned to China in 1997, Hong Kong Park was built on the former Victoria Barracks and redeveloped into a park and opened in 1991. Thus various old architectural buildings were rennovated and converted into new usages, e.g. Wavell Block was converted into an education center naer the Edward Youde aviary.
